Question ANSI C: How to send data to another program?

Hello,
Could anybody advise how can I send data from one running program to another.
I'm new to C and tried googling this matter for couple of hours without success.
I have a USB driver for a special device and C API for that. And I want to build a simple interface application using C to be able to communicate with USB device from my GUI application built with RealBasic.
Thanks in advance.
Vadim.
