The slitlist only tells Fluxbox in what order to arrange the applications. In order to have them load automatically, you need to specify elsewhere.
If you load X with "startx" or "xinit", you can place the applications in ~/.xinitrc
If you use a GUI session manager like kdm, I'm not sure....
If you use fluxbox development, there's a ~/.fluxbox/apps file you can use.
My preference is the last one, since you can load apps for Fluxbox only. Instead of adding the applications themselves to ~/.fluxbox/apps, though, I just added a command to launch a script that runs all my startup stuff (a little more convienient to be able to use bash script for some things)
