AMD drivers for Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS

Hey there Guys

I installed Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS yesterday and after getting all the latest updates i installed AMD Graphics drivers from the amd website.... after installation it asked for a restart so i let it restart, came back up and just see a flashing _ no OS.

Is their any other way that you guys can suggest for me to install this driver?
I am mainly gonna use linux for gaming and programing. Games like minecraft and league of legends mostly.

Thanks

Can you post the output of the following command:
Code:
lspci |grep VGA
Here is my output of that command:
Code:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV710 [Radeon HD 4350/4550]
I use the radeon driver which works flawlessly. No need for a proprietary driver.

This page should tell you how you can install the radeon driver. See if that solves your problem.
