Amarok Shows all music two times in database [SOLVED]

I have a small problem with amarok, which is really bugging me. It displays all of the tracks twice over, but does not show the albums twice.

For Example:

Quote:
Album 1
---Track 1
---Track 1
---Track 2
---Track 2

Album 2
---Track 1
---Track 1
---Track 2
---Track 2
It does this for every track in my collection, since this morning.

I have tried:
  • Rescanning My Collection
  • Updating My Collection

When I look in the folders which contain the tracks, there is only one copy of each track. Why is amarok seeing each track twice?

I compiled and installed it yesterday, and it was running fine then.

I am also running amarok on gnome. Could this be the reason?

Thanks for any help in advance,

James

What I would try and do is delete your amarok profile. I'm not too familiar with the exact locations but I've had this problem before and all I had to do was remove the contents of .kde (or .amarok I can't remember) in your home directory. Feel free to dig into the .kde directory because if you delete that whole directory you will lose all your custom configurations for KDE apps. Just do something digging in those directories and delete anything that has something to do with amarok.

I thought I saw another post about this before but I can't seem to find it. Let us know how it works out.

HTH,

It worked. Thanks!

I went into ~/.kde/share/apps/ and deleted the amarok folder. I then fully exited amarok and restarted. It rescanned my folders and rebuilt the database. Now the tracks only appear once.

Thanks for your help!
