hey guys..i'm hoping someone can help me out. I installed gentoo a few weeks ago, and i've been learning quite a bit since then, however i still haven't been able to get alsa working with my Hercules Muse LT.. As far as I know, everything I need is installed..however when I start alsamixer, I'm unable to cahnge any settings, and PCM shows as "off". I've checked that everything is unmuted, and as far as I can see nothing is.
Any ideas what might be going on?
I'm logged in as root while trying all this.
Yep, i'm logged in as root however lsmod shows no modules running. Everything related to alsa which i enabled in the kernel i left as * rather than module. Should I be doing things differently?
Thanks for the reply..I tried that, as well as every other key combination but it won't unmute. I have no idea what's going on
:/
Files play fine, and my card is detected so i'm sure it's just an issue with permissions or something. But I can't figure it out
