already installed 'libunwind' but system can't find it.

first, I'm linux system newbie
I want to study wayland so following this page (http://wayland.freedesktop.org/building.html)
In the middle of installing weston, system can't find package 'linunwind' that I installed many times.

configure: error: package requirements (libunwind) were not met:
no package 'libunwind' found

Did I something wrong?
I spend many days to solve this problem but there's not a correct solution on google.
I checked thers's libunwind.pc file in /lib/pkgconfig and libunwind.h file in /include/

And then why system can't find package 'libunwind'!
help me

no package 'libunwind' found
Means : No libunwind.pc found.

Are you sure it's in /lib/pkgconfig/libunwind.pc ?

Suggest : $ cd /usr/lib/pkgconfig/
# ln -s /lib/pkgconfig/libunwind.pc ( Or wherever you are hiding it.)

I.e. /lib/pkgconfig/ is not in the PKG_CONFIG_PATH.

Oh!!!! libunwind.pc file is not in /usr/lib/pkgconfig/
And then what am I supposed to do? copy and paste /lib/pkgconfig/libunwind.pc file to /lib/pkgconfig/ folder??

no ,it is supposed to be in /usr/lib/pkgconfig if this is a 32 bit operating system
and in /usr/lib64/pkgconfig for a 64 bit install

normally one uses " /usr " as the install prefix and not "/"
"/" would be a non standard location
see the install doc page
"Installing in a custom location"
