If your distro doens't have any package repositories (like apt-get) you might have to compile the program from source. Isn't PClinuxOS RPM based?

Software Updates

PCLinuxOS provides about 5,000 RPM software packages that are easily installed using apt-get with the Synaptic frontend. The Synaptic Software Manager provides a single frontend for installing, updating and removing software from your PCLinuxOS system. Updating your system is easy as 1- Reload file list, 2 Mark all updates and 3 - Click apply. It doesnt get any easier than this!
It is rpm based. It's based off Mandriva, which is an rpm based distro.

have you checked synaptic? Is the program not in synaptic? If not, visit Alien's web-page and download the source. You're going to havea to extract the source (untar it.. man tar for help), then, cd to whatever directory you extracted the source, then run make, then (as root) run make install. and it should be installed.

Check out Synaptic first though, most likely, they have the program in their repositroy.

Conciedentally enough, I found this link that might help you out. Why do you need to install this? http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/..._Linux_Mirrors
