AirVPN on Linux Mint 18.2 | Worked, Restarted, AirVPN missing with no Internet.

Hello,

I've installed AirVPN's client (Eddie) on my computer running the latest Linux Mint 18.2 ...

Initially it worked fine and I did go into settings to select, Network Lock ON.

When I restarted the computer, AirVPN was missing, completely off of the system, no where to be found.

Since Network Lock was ON, I think it tweaked the network somewhere, because I can't even connect to the internet to try and re install AirVPN again, since the installer needs to connect to the web to grab some files.

I've tried to reset the DNS, but I am not able to edit the interfaces file. ( /etc/network/interfaces) It says read only file?

I really hope not to be forced to reinstall Linux again...

...

1. Does anyone know why AirVPN would just vanish from the system after I had restarted? I would like to prevent this from happening again if all possible.

2. Do you think the culprit is due to Network Lock being ON? Should this be left OFF then within the client? I wish to keep it ON, but only if it is stable..

3. Is there a better way to go about using (Eddie) as in perhaps installing it a certain method or tweaks that I may not know about?

4. What is the best version of Eddie to use if it is not the latest?

...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers

That's because it is a system file. You need to edit with root privileges. For example, to edit with the nano editor
Code:
sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces
*Change according to your favourite CLI editor.
