add network module to kernel

Hi all

I have a network drive in need to compile. So I changed my kernel to the one I have for the PCs at work the problem I am having is that when i do a make on the drive it intalls the driver on the old kernel not the new one.

Do I need to delete the the old one ? if so how do i do this?

this is on NLD9
