Make a /dev/dvd linked to your actual device, ex: ln -s /dev/hdX /dev/dvd

Where X is the device letter or could be /dev/scd in your case, etc.

edit the application

If you want to make Acidrip permanently have the video source path something other than /dev/dvd, change line 900 of a file named somewhat like "/usr/share/perl5/AcidRip/acidrip.pm " to your liking. This requires root privileges and is read-only, so making a backup is recommended.
