Acidrip from dvd cache?

Is there a way to use acid rip to encode a cashe'd dvd after the dvd is out of the drive? I would like to try a few different codec, and don't want to do it on the fly, or re cache it every time.

Also, what codec do you guys recommend? Using DivX4 I get lots of the blocks in the vid.

Thanks

cahcing is possible yes, but only when you have the disc to start with, first it caches it, then encodes it. you can also dumb the dvd to a disk with vobcopy or similar, and as long as you have the valid .ifo files as well you can treat that directory as the dvd drive, and it should work like that. there is currently no way to start halfway through though, it must be able to find the structure of a dvd.

codec? lavc lavc lavc lavc lavc lavc lavc lavc
