AbiWord Using Spanish SpellCheck (Oh so frustrated--and yes many searches were done!!

Hey guys, I'm using Slackware 10.0 w/ Gnome and it came w/ AbiWord 2.0.6. I couldn't get the Spanish spellcheck to work on it (it kept saying "Could not load the dictionary for the Spanish (Spain) [es-ES] language"). So I figured the new version might not have this problem; of course I was wrong. So I figured out I needed the espanol.hash and .hash-encoding files from sourceforge.net. I put them in the right directory (user/share/AbiSuite2.2/dictionary/) just as the documentation from AbiWord says and I still get that bloody error. I need this to work for my Spanish Assignments (as I'm trying to do a full switch from Windows to Linux over the weekend*probably not the smartest thing to do near the end of the semester I am finding out the hard way*). Any help would be INSANELY appreciated! Thanks ahead.

Are you sure that ABI word isn't looking for the files in the old 2.0.6 directory?

You should really pick the most appropriate forum and place your question there. Your post in Linux-Newbie, while not originally about the spell-check, did lead to a question on the topic. This thread has been reported.

Sorry scuzzman, I just decided that the name of that thread was misleading to my new question and wouldn't get the attention I desired. My most profound apologies.
