Hi I am curious... what sort of hdd file systems are there in the LINUX/UNIX operating systems series?

try "man mount" and then search for NTFS, this word is among other file systems. in my distro has reiser, ext 2, ext3., fat32 and can read from ntfs (you can see everything in a ntfs disk , like those directories that was "access denied")
