3ddesktop error

When I try to start 3desktop, I get the following error:
3ddeskd: error while loading shared libraries: libImlib2.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

Here is where it is:
usr/local/lib/libImlib2.so.1

I'm using Slackware 10 with KDE

This newbie appreciates any help.

try making a link to the file in /usr/lib.

ln -s /usr/local/lib/libImlib2.so.1 /usr/lib/libImlib2.so.1

delete what? why does the parent poster need to delete anything?

I was able to make it work. Now, just gotta figure out how to map the keys. Gconf-editor and metacity does not work.
