[Request] iftop help, custom ip names and change column 3 40s max limit

So guys iam looking for an experienced user with iftop. I need to know is it possible to change the local LAN IPs to display a desired host name instead of IP addresses.

Also i need to change column 3 to display total data sent during life time instead of just the 40s time limit cap.

Anyone know if this is possible? I need it for my Gentoo based router setup.

Re: hostnames: As I read the man page, displaying the host name is the default, presuming that there are DNS entries for them. It also notes that doing so will increase the amount of network traffic being reported.

See man iftop for details.

Ya i tried that too, to no avail.

It shows hosts names from source but not destinations.

I have seen some youtube videos that show host names on both.

could it be i missed a step on router setup?
