vsftpd anonymous user cannot see directory other than chroot?

I am setting up vsftpd.

I have setting in short:
Code:
anonymous_enable=YES
local_enable=YES
I found that anonymous account will be locked in chroot directory, which is /home/ftp. If I login as local account, then I could go out of the directory to view the whole system drive. But I did not set anonymous to be locked in chroot directory, I understand it's a security reason. But what if I intended to do that as a practice? How do I do that? Is it even possible? I can't seems to find any relate config option to override that.

Thanks.

Hi

not 100% sure if you understand your problem. But i think you could change the home directory of anonymous to "/". Just add the following line to vsftpd.conf:

anon_root=/

well, imho this is very very bad configuration!

is it possible that by default anonymous still go to /home/ftp, but anonymous user can go up to other directory?

Thanks.
