Question Virtual IP Server

Hi all,

I previously posted a similar thread to the problem that I am having, but this is slightly different and less complex, thus I decided to just create a new thread.

I have 4 linux servers, 2 of them are load balancers (main and backup) and the other 2 servers are Apache webservers.

I use heartbeat + ldirectord + ipvsadm in order to get this work.

The load balancers work correctly and list my available Apache nodes.
However, to receive traffic from the virtual IP address on the Apache servers, one needs to create an alias on localhost with the virtual IP. (As specified here: http://www.howtoforge.com/high_avail...che_cluster_p3)

As soon as I set the alias on the apache servers, the load balancers list both my apache servers as to be down. When I remove the alias, they get listed as up again. (But canīt accept traffic).

Any clues?

Maybe this is more a network issue than a server issue.
Should it be moved to the network subforum?
