vgs still showing the vg name even after vgexport


Hi Admin.

I have exported the vg from one of the red hat linux box. But still the vgs command shows the vg name in vg list.

Any idea? whats happening?

I generally tend to believe what the manual says unless I discover that what it says doesn't seem to work. The manual I have says:

Most LVM2 tools ignore exported Volume Groups.
To me that means the same as if it had been written:

Most ( not all ) LVM2 tools ignore exported Volume Groups.
