Lightbulb unable to login any user through the console but users can login in GUI


In my centos 6.2 linux box any users can not login to the any console but all are able to login to GUI i have checked the /etc/securetty its fine and checked the /var/log/sercure i got this

Apr 19 15:49:01 client unix_chkpwd[4723]: password check failed for user (root)
Apr 19 15:49:01 client login: pam_unix(login:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=tty3 ruser= rhost= user=root
Apr 19 15:49:04 client login: FAILED LOGIN 2 FROM (null) FOR root, Authentication failure

When you try to log into the console, just try typing your password into the 'username' (Don't hit enter!) just to see if it is showing what you expect.

Perhaps a strange keymap issue is causing this?
