Ugly glFTPd !!!

Hello all,

I recently installed a RHEL5 server and I thought about configuring an FTP Server.
I never did this before so I was looking for some good software. Finaly, I read some recomendations about glFTPd and I got it (glFTPd 2.01 Linux+TLS).

I read all the documentation
I followed all the steps (the samples were really useful)
And now I can connect to the server locally !!!

So.. what's the issue?

I can't connect to the server remotely (the FTP Client connects to the server but then the server drops the connection and gives the 421 error message)...
I did it all, I modified all the needed ".conf" files and others too (glftpd.conf, services, hosts.allow, xinetd.conf, "/glftpd/ftp-data/users/My_New_User", default.user, and others..).

SELinux and the firewall are disabled momentaniously.

Anyway.. I think that I made a bad choice. All I could find about this issue was not helpful at all (only "try to download the latest version..", "install it again", and the documentation !!! the most amazing helpfuly text I ever seen before says something like "If you get a 421 error or something similar, you didn't install glFTPd correctly !!!".

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

NOTE: Is glFTPd a good choice? Do you recommend another?

Max

I haven't configured an ftpd for some time, but I've tried both proftpd and vsftpd, and they're both quite well done.
