system V managed services


Hi,
This question is a basic one. but I want to be much familiar with this?

what is system V managed services?

what are the available system V managed services in Redhat?

why it is called system V managed service?


I know this things a little bit, but i need a perfect definition as am facing a interview this week end.

A great article, but it would seem it's so old the magazine no longer exists (maybe see if you can find an archive).

Your best bet is to get outside information as it would be to much to try and get all the details in this forum.

SysV is a Unix invention used to start and start processes in an order you specify. Linux uses an init system based of SysV. Now read the above for the dirty details. Good luck on the interview.
