syslog-ng notification

I have a centralized syslog-ng server currently grab bin logs from about 30 servers.

I need to figure out a way to send out a notification mail whenever a new server starts logging to the syslog-ng server.

Why? Well I have multiple engineers installing servers and documentation is normally not up2date.

Also, is there away to detect when servers are not sending logs for a period of time?

Any advice is much appreciated.

I'm also on the same situation but the only different is that u control many servers than me, if you happen to figure out plz post it here i'll be keeping my eyes open here.
