Suse Wiki swap - Recent pages error 2006 or 1105

hey everyone,
recently swapped from a Windows Server hosted wiki ( eww ) to a SUSE wiki. The port went great until this error: when you go to recent pages:

Code:
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

    (SQL query hidden)

from within function "wfSpecialRecentchanges". MySQL returned error "1105: Unknown error (localhost)".
The error swaps between a 2006 - host has gone away error as well depending on the wiki's mood I guess.

It seems to me that the wiki is looking in the wrong place.. if I were a betting man I'd say the SQL statement is getting passed the wrong information. I double checked the wikiusers permission, but its all good.

Any ideas?

Better yet: The SQL statement is:

SELECT * FROM `recentchanges` FORCE INDEX (rc_timestamp)LEFT OUTER JOIN `watchlist` ON wl_user=1 AND wl_title=rc_title AND wl_namespace=rc_namespace WHERE rc_timestamp >= '20080429000000' AND rc_bot = 0 ORDER BY rc_timestamp DESC LIMIT 50

Which works on the old box, but not the new one
