Suggestions for new hosting machine

I'm replacing one server with another (used for web hosting). The one I currently have uses Webmin/Virtualmin, which I'm not terribly happy with. I used to use cPanel but am too cheap to pay for it. So I'm looking for suggestions for a (free) hosting control panel for the new server.

I've seen RapidCP which looks promising, but it hasn't been released yet. I like how Webmin allows more control over the OS, but also like how a long of the low-level stuff is hidden with cPanel. Are there any free hosting control panels that aare compromise between the two?

howtoforge.com had full tutorials for those. just look for "perfect setup" for the distro you like

I'm not looking for instruction for installing, I'm looking for suggestions about which hosting control panel to use. People's opinions, comparisons, etc.

I've been checking out ISPConfig, has anybody used that one? How do you think it compares to the others available?

ISPconfig is the one they recommend on howtoforge. I've installed it once, just to try - it's really full of features. but I've never run it in a production environment
