SSH connection through putty times out after about 15 minutes

SSH connection through putty times out after about 15 minutes

Is there anyway to increase that?

Is it an IPtables setting?

TIA

Define "times out". There could be several reason.

Try enabling KeepAlives in Putty's settings.

Check your anti virus and firewall on your desktop. Some anti virus programs you'll need to add putty to the rules so it wont try to disconnect it.

Also look at the client's "ServerAliveCountMax" option if Putty has one. If it is the client that is closing the connection, it could be that this count is exceeded.
