some questions with proxy


i have install proxy server with squid and it also start.but i have some questions with it. in clients ,i can surf in the internet in whindowsX,but under CMD mode ,pinging www.google.com doesn't work.what 's more , wget http://www.google.com failed.so i do this:

i use nslookup commond. it also runs.who can help me to explain it? thank you at first.

ping doesn't go through your squid proxy so may be filtered elsewhere in your firewall rules.
wget will need to be told which proxy server to use http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/man...t.html#Proxies
nslookup doesn't use your proxy and talks to name servers.
