some problem with squid proxy

I setup a squid proxy with basic authentication and works fine .
But the problem comes when my user goes to access the sites that ask for authentication.
squid throws his own authentication window and not show user the authentication request asked by the site.

For example if I say yahoo.com he asks user name pass and authenticates.but if I go to site say
http://pow.ctci.com.tw/eoeg/default.aspx
then doesnot forward authentication req of the site

Hello,

The site pow.ctci.com.tw is hosted on Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0 and it send the following Server headers to Proxy Server WWW-authenticate: NTLM

so squid proxy server sends a headers of basic authorization to the IIS Server . which is not able to authenticate a Proxy User.

and most probably you must have got the following response code.

401 UNAUTHORIZED

These problems come when there is ntlm authentication into picture

Hi satish,

Seems like you are comfortable with squid. Can you elaborate a bit on the answer you have give to "prajakta0shimpi". I want to know more on that as i am also going to configure a squid proxy.

Thanks.
