Sendmail's error log

Hi, List:

I'm running sendmail-8.14.0-1.CF.rhel4 on a dell-1850,
these days we found error logs like this:

Nov 18 09:16:18 VACD95MIKA sendmail[9655]: lAI9Eg2Z009591: to=status@exantmip.com, delay=00:01:28, xdelay
=00:01:27, mailer=esmtp, pri=91753, relay=mail.exantmip.com.exantmip.com., dsn=5.1.2, stat=Host unknown (Na
me server: mail.exantmip.com.exantmip.com.: host not found)

we forward our local mails to exantmip.com, the local has a different domain name. how about the record here please?
"relay=mail.exantmip.com.exantmip.com."

Is it a local dns issue please?

Most likely you miss a dot "." at the end of the MX record. It should be something like:
Code:
IN MX 10 mail.exantmip.
Note the dot at the end of "mail.exantmip."

Thank you!
I'll tell our support team about that!
There is another question please:

When we use a local dns server, the mail can be processed properly, when we use an outter dns, we'll back the issue above.

I'm confused about that, will someone give me more details please?
