Question Sendmail 8.13.8 SMTP Auth on RHEL5

Hi All

I have a requirement to configure my Sendmail Server to authenticate users located at different places with SMTP AUTH. I have followed many exhaustive tutorials regarding this on the web but nothing worked for me.

However TLS is working perfect for me but SMTP AUTH is still a nightmare for me, so I would highly appreciate if anyone can help me with a sure shot method to implement SMTH Authentication on my Server.

One more thing when I do "ehlo localhost" it also does not print any AUTH mechanism.

Plzzzzzzzzzzzz Help

Many Thanks in Advance

If you don't have the required auth mechanisms then you may have to recompile the sendmail binary. I recommend the tutorial here - although it was written for Slackware, the config sections should apply to other distributions as well.

I'm glad you've got it working - it's an excellent tutorial that SiegeX has put together
