secure directory in apache

I created a website in my apache server. I just need to secure that when everyone try to access any folder on my root directory, it will show "Forbidden".

Hi,

Could you elaborate a bit? What you mean by "any folder on my root directory"? You mean DocumentRoot and if yes, then how is your site going to be accessible?

I site an example:

You can view this image http://www.foo.com/images_2009/foo_logo.png but you'll get forbidden when you visit http://www.foo.com/images_2009/

You can remove the keyword "Indexes" from the Options directive in your DocumentRoot stanza
