Samba issue

Hi,

I am having an odd samba issue. For some reason, I can connect to my Samba share using user1 on Windows and Linux, but user2's setup the same way cannot on Windows 7, but can on Linux. This is on the same computer. Why is this? Here is my smb.conf:

Code:
[global]

workgroup = WORKGROUP
server string = Samba Server
security = user
load printers = yes
log file = /var/log/samba.%m
max log size = 50
socket options = TCP_NODELAY

[user1's home]

comment = My Home Directory
path = /home/user1
valid users = user1
writable = yes

[user2's home]

comment = My Home Directory
path = /home/user2
valid users = user2
writable = yes

I assume there is a difference between the config of user1 and user2. Maybe home does not exist or password expired or ?

I solved the problem, it was an issue with my smb.conf.

Make sure both users are Samba users. E.G. did you run "smbpasswd -a" for both users? Check the Samba logs. They may help pinpoint the problem.
If only one Windows host is Win7, check if other hosts can see its shares. If not, you may need to change the home network encryption settings, 128 bit to 56 bits for example. I have a device at work that uses Win7, and a server could see it but not its shares. Reducing the encryption level solved the problem. I don't know how this would effect Samba however.
