Restricting email bandwidth

Hi.

I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything on this. Even google. So you guys are my last hope.

Basically, all I want to do is to limit email bandwidth on a per user basis. i.e. ted@domain.com has a 1gb bandwidth limit for emails (out+in), while mike@domain.com has 2gb.

HOW can I do this?? If this is command line based, no problem, I can script a CP in php.

Any help or direction would be appreciated. Hell just a name of software will do the trick!

Thank you.
Abbas.

Not for sure but squid can limit users but not sure on port specific. Reading many of the docs and help on the site it seems possible if the squid.conf is setup using delay pool and define the ports to monitor. http://www.squid-cache.org/

Hi.

Thank you for your reply. Not quite what I am looking for! I need something on server side, rather then a proxy for a local lan.

Thanks.
Abbas.
