Regarding migration of application hosted on Redhat Linux 5.3 to RHEL 6.5

Hi Team,

Could you please guide me the steps of migrating the apache apps from RHEL 5.3 to Rhel 6.5 server.
Its a physical to physical server migration.

WHat are its requirements and how to proceed for it.

Thanks..

First, you're not giving us any details...things like version of apache, or what 'apps' you're talking about. So the only 'steps' we can give you are:
  1. PAY FOR RHEL if you're using it
  2. Load the latest version, which is 7.x, not 6.5
  3. Contact Red Hat support if you need diagnostic assistance

and WHY !!! 6.5 ???

the current in the older 6 series is 6.7
why do you want to use a version that is two minor versions out of date

and why not just use the current
RHEL 7.1

You were GIVEN the steps already in the first reply. Not paying for RHEL? Then load CentOS. Using RHEL? Then PAY FOR IT, period...there is no gray area. What you're doing makes no sense at all...even with non-critical servers, you will be running unpatched, unupdated, insecure servers, with bugs, for NO REASON.

And if you want the steps to do this, I suggest you read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature, and do basic research on your own first. This is well documented on both the CentOS and RHEL websites, as far as upgrade procedures. If you're paying for RHEL, there is a command you can run that will upgrade your server for you...but ONLY IF YOU PAY, and RHEL support can walk you through it.
