VMware has *nothing* to do with DNS. There's also no such thing as "vmware 8", vmware is a software company, not a product. Do you men workstation 8? If so, why are you running a server on a desktop package?? What's wrong with KVM which is already directly built into CentOS?
There is nothing at all "interesting" about putting BIND on a VM, any more than putting it on a red server vs a black one. You'd potentially benefit from appreciating the different layers in system architecture. IF it mattered, then there would implicitly be something wrong in the VM architecture.
DNS servers require negligible disk space, there are no special considerations for size required, although you need to make sure your /var/named (or chrooted location) is managed safely and responeibly.
