proxy - lookup?

Hi
I set up my own proxy server at home so I could access UK TV while away.
It works for every channel except for five, which still recognises as outside of the UK even though I am using a UK IP address through the proxy.
Any ideas on why?

Perhaps the IP from the proxy is blacklisted?
What happens if you bypass your proxy ?

It's possible but unlikely. The proxy has only been up a while and I don't think these TV stations do blacklisting as their tv players are open to everyone within the UK. At least...if they did...then this is the only TV channel to do so.
I thought there might be a cookie but deleted those and refreshed the page.

Well, I'm outside of the UK at moment, so it recognises that and prevents me from viewing. I thought it might be some sort of reverse lookup like I believe some US TV channel websites have done but I'm not sure how to check.

err...sorry - on what...the browser?

Speaking of which, what is the protocol used to recognise people's IP even if they are using a proxy?

I don't think you can, since the IP from the proxy is sent.

Well, that's what I thought, hence the whole idea of a proxy but I remember reading about some US TV companies doing something like this.
...reverse something
