Problems with Xorg and Via Chrome9 HC

The hardware in question: an Everex StepNote NC1503 laptop with a Via Chrome9 HC IGP graphics chip. I installed PCLinuxOS onto it, but apparently it didn't identify the graphics chip correctly as it is just using the fbdev driver in xorg.conf. I found some instructions from the Via website for how to configure X, but when I try to switch over to using the via driver, X bombs out with a "no screens found" error. My next course of action was going to be downloading the latest driver from Openchrome.org and see what happens.

I don't suppose there is anyone out there that has similar hardware and has solved this problem, maybe has an xorg.conf file they could post?

Thanks.
