problem with my external RAID storage array

Hello,

I have a big trouble with MD1000 disk array and server R610 at the creation of RAID5 on the bay on Lenny.

Let me explain, I installed Debian Lenny on a server DELL R610 that has an external RAID storage array connected to a card PERC6 (MD1000).

Until then, Debian works well. When I create a virtual disk on the external storage with all disks for a virtual disk of 4TB and I reboot the server, debian will not boot. He launched to the page where it says kernel alive, booting kernel, please wait ... and there is the drama ... it does not go away ...

If I delete the virtual disk on the bay, it starts normally again. What can I do to take it into account the 4TB disk at startup, since it did not partition created on this virtual disk ...

The kernel is the latest: 2.6.26-2-amd64.

Does someone has an idea or already encountered this problem?

Thanks.

Is it software or hardware raid?
And do you mean LVM as virtual disks?

I remember to the same problem once with SW Raid and LVM: the raid arrays are not ready at boot time!
You should compile in mdraid in this case (not modules), and have some kernel options.
In my case, using Gentoo initrd and LVM, it was 'dolvm2 lvmraid=/dev/md1', i do not know if it applies to Debian, too.
