I want to see the actual command and output of:

$ telnet 209.85.147.114 25

from your postfix server machine. This has nothing to do with rDNS.

That almost certainly means a firewall is rejecting your connection.

Try telnet pps-01.smtps.net 25. I'm not blocking port 25 traffic to that box, so you would at least get the MTA banner even if the DNSBL blocks your connection. If you get connection refused on that, then you definitely have a firewall blocking your outbound port 25 traffic.

You're right, unfortunately the firewall port on outbound was closed. It was supposed to be open and from the provider I was told formerly that it was open and now they said that it is not open... shame on them that made me lost a lot of time and energy. So, am waiting to get it open and go ahead with the configuration.

Thank you all!

Good that you have it figured out.

Bad that you blame the others for wasting your time. You had the tools at your disposal, and the evidence was clear. The problem is you got incorrect advice for the circumstances, and that persuaded you to focus on the wrong thing (DNS issues, a premise you held on to until even last night!).

Go with the evidence - learn to use the logs are your friend, and learn what they are telling you.

Well I blame them as we've been working in a modular way. I trust what they declared and I do not need to worry about something they say is done I just take it as true. The DNS issues where the most logic conseguence as I did not have a valid domain till this morning and the MX reccord was not set and yet the rDNS is not still set.
On the other hand when I did telnet 209.85.147.114 from another machine of the network and said ehlo mail.mydomain.tld I got the same answer as your first post. This one "confirmed" that it was not a problem of open ports. Well this is what I think about blaming something else maybe I'm wrong. Anyway thanks for your answer and I hope I can succeed with making the mailserver work

Well I'm yet stucked with another problem with Postfix. This time I can not make it connect to Mysql, it says

postfix/trivial-rewrite[3785]: warning: connect to mysql server localhost: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock'

On all the files mysqlfiles I changed localhost to xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx which is my internet IP but it still continues to give me that error. The mysql.sock I find in /tmp/mysql.sock and not in /var/lib/mysql.sock though I tried to make a hard link it not any results yet.

Did anyone had to do with such problem?

thanks

Are you running the cleanup daemon chroot'd ?

If so, you need to have MySQL listen on a port inside the chroot, as in /var/spool/postfix/var/lib/mysqld/mysql.sock (or replace the /var/spool/postfix to the chroot base in which postfix runs)

Well Mr.C I think I might have resolved the problem by putting 127.0.0.1 as hostname and I did a symbolic link to /tmp/mysql.sock. I don't think that the second is and elegant way so I'm think that the first is the solution; making it connect via TCP/IP instead of .sock! What do you think?

Well I am running on another problem righ now:

NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from fk-out-0910.google.com[209.85.128.190]: 554 <admin@myvirtualdomain>: Relay access denied; from=<myname@gmail.com> to=<admin@myvirtualdomaint> proto=ESMTP helo=<fk-out-0910.google.com>

well on my destinations I have $myhostname, localhost, $mydomain ... all the other domains I'm trying get from the mysql: virtual_mailbox_domains = mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_mailbox_maps.cf

which has

user = xxx
password = xxx
hosts = 127.0.0.1
dbname = xxx
table = domain
select_field = description
where_field = domain
#additional_conditions = and backupmx = '0' and active = '1'

where inserted into it is myvirtualdomain... I'm getting still the relay denied! Shouldn't it check to sql file for the virtual domains?

thanks

When you post logs, don't remove the inital portion of the lines - it contains important information.

Since I can't see the value of myhostname, nor any of the values for virtual mailbox domains, I can't say. Show the value of these parameters - obfuscate if you want, but do so consistently so I can see where the problem is.

myvirtualdomaint isn't found in any of your myhostname, mydomain, or virtual_mailbox_domains.

What do you get from a postmap -q admin@myvirtualdomaint mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_mailbox_maps.cf

So it appears you have permit_my_networks, reject_unauth_destination as your smtpd_recipient_checks.

Show output from: postconf -n
