Cool php xml / dom support

Hello all.

I am in the process of installing phpbb 3.3 and I have come across the following error

php xml / dom support needs to be available.

So unfortunately I can not go any further with the installation at this moment in time.

Useful info:

My server is with a company called fasthosts (based in the UK)

My server is a virtual private server with operating system linux ubuntu 18

I have installed and set up Apache 2

I have installed php 7.1.33

I access my virtual private server via my terminal. / SSH

I have not set up my sql or database yet. I know it flagged that up on the phpbb3 install as well.

I have previously discussed this issue on the phpbb3 forums and I have been advised to seek more server related support forums.

So my question is. How do I rectify the php xml / dom support error.

Thank you so much to anyone who takes time to provide me with technical help and support regarding this current issue.

Kind regards
Simon

Try
Code:
sudo apt install php-xml
Update. Wait, why php 7.1? php 7.2 is default on Ubuntu 18.04.

The line
Quote:
PHP 7.1.3+ with support for the database you intend to use.
in phpBB requirements means: 7.1.3 or newer.

I installed the latest phpmyadmin and set up a database from there. All working well.

Thank you to everyone who have taken the time to read my post and contribute to it regarding the issue.

Thank you very much

Kind regards
