PHP run in CGI mode - joomla setup

Our web design company need install joomla in PHP run in CGI mode on Linux perfrom. As Php run in CGI mode secure than run in Apache mode.
But I am not a linux perform. Also our server hosting in ISP in Datacentre, the server only installed Clean Linux OS. All the additional
package will install by myself.
I found all-in-one web server package " http://www.appservnetwork.com/ " , " http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html " . Both package which is
better support and setup. Also very import pls advice how to config or modify the setting after insatlled this product.

Which distro are you using ? Depending on your package manager you should be able to find a package for php such as php5-cgi in the repositories which can install using yum install php5-cgi.

I will using CENTOS 5.1 , i will install sppserv for setup, please advice any special package need install and modify.
