PAM: User account has expired for "user". Can't log in with ssh.

Trying to set up google authenticator for 2FA in Debian 10. When I try to log in it just closes the session. Log file shows this:

Code:
Accepted google_authenticator for "user"
sshd[1338145]: error: PAM: User account has expired for "user" from 192.168.1.214
Not sure how to proceed. PAM thinks the user is expired even though I'm logged in as that user right now on the machine. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried the command below, to check user expiry date:

Quote:
chage -l userNameHere
