Lightbulb ownCloud access error - Centos 6.8

Hi guys,
i got this error when I access the owncloud server via the machine IP Address. With loop back 127.0.0.1, seems to be okay.

owncloud version - 9.0
Quote:
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /owncloud on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request
I got this iptables:

Quote:
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination
ACCEPT all - - anywhere anywhere state RELATED,ESTABLISHED
ACCEPT icmp - - anywhere anywhere
ACCEPT all -- anywhere anywhere
ACCEPT all - - anywhere anywhere
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere state NEW tcp dpt:ssh
ACCEPT tcp - - anywhere anywhere state NEW tcp dpt:http
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere state NEW tcp dpt:https
REJECT all - - anywhere anywhere reject-with icmp-host-prohibited

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination
ACCEPT all - - anywhere anywhere state RELATED,ESTABLISHED
ACCEPT icmp - - anywhere anywhere
ACCEPT all - - anywhere anywhere
ACCEPT all - - anywhere anywhere
ACCEPT all-- anywhere anywhere
REJECT all - - anywhere anywhere reject-with icmp-host-prohibited
Thanks for any ideas.

Well it's not your firewall as you can successfully communicate with your webserver.

Check the access controls in your vhost definition, and that the webserver user has read permissions for the relevant files in the webroot.

Your _access and _error logs should provide further clues.

Yes, paste here web server error_logs and .htaccess file contents if present in "owncloud" directory.

Thank you guys, I guess I was too excited to get things working. I read the owncloud.conf file and need to run the command below once everything has been setup.

Quote:
ln -s /etc/httpd/conf.d/owncloud-access.conf.avail /etc/httpd/conf.d/z-owncloud-access.conf
After I run the command the issue went away.

Thanks for all the ideas.

Yeah - having an active vhost definition will help
