MySql Error Logs.

Dear all,

Firstly let me thank you all who always help others with the medium of LQ.org.

I have a question as:

I have RH Linux Enterpise 4, with mysql installed on it but due to some reasons MySql server shuts down and my whole system is hung up.

I want to find out the reasons as to why this sudden shutdown is happening. I think that there is a facility of error logs in mysql. I want to know about that so as i can follow the logs and the come to a solution of this issue.

The log files of mysql are located in the data directory (the directory which holds your databases), except if you've change it through my.cnf, or during installation. The one that you may look into is the hostname.err. Replace hostname with your real hostname.
