Hi all,

I am not able to figure my problem right now i working on that but also looking help from hear so the problem is this

when i reboot my rhel 5.6 which is installed in Physical server i found that it shows me some I/O error /dev/sda
but the server come up smoothly. Now i am trying to find out the disk which comes from SAN & have the I/o issue. so tried some command but not able to figure out any conclusion

I am assuming that the disk /dev/sda which have the issue is dm-9 (mpath2) ?

so if you have some more concrete command which can show me the each disk status where it is used or where it comes from

You can use lsscsi command for your purpose and if this command does not work then please install lsscsi package on server.

Please post the output of 'multipath -ll', 'lsscsi' and 'df -h' output if you don't get the answer.

As per below output, it seems that you have hardware raid in you server so /dev/sda should be SAN disk as its major number is showing "8" but cannot confirm without proper analysis.

Pantdk you need to be more specific is your issue with /dev/sda or /dev/sdaa you have selected two different devices in your post to discuss. Just want to make sure which one you are talking about.

Thanks for the input & concern now first i didn't figure out the disk which have the problem.i haven't the permission to install that package so right now i have only these below output .
