mdadm --assembly --scan sees RAID0 instead of previous RAID5

Hi,

My Ubuntu v14.04 server's boot drive failed and I replaced it. I previously had 3 additional drives configured as RAID5. After replacing the boot drive and setting up the OS (v16.04), I ran 'mdadm --assemble --scan'.

The RAID now shows up as RAID0 instead of RAID5 and only 2 of the drives are included. I'm currently running testdrive on the 3rd drive and so-far-so-good.

How do I get mdadm to recognize the original 3 drives and see that it should be RAID5? There must be a file somewhere with this info that I can edit directly.

Thanks...

This may be resolved. I ran 'mdadm --stop --scan' and then ran the --assemble again. It's now showing as a degraded RAID5. I'll replace the missing drive and see if it works.
