mandriva time settings, php program timing out

hi,

i've got a dual boot mandriva 2009.1/2010.0 - they both use the same lamp partitions, and both access them equally well.

there is one problem i have with an online program; i cannot log in on the 2010.0 distro (i can log into other online software, though, that does not have a built in time limit). the program in question brings me right back to the login page, saying:
"You have been inactive too long. Please log in again."
just a second after I log in.

I think this has something to do with my clock, although on both distro's:
hwclock
date
date -u

all reveal the same information.

Any ideas?
