Logging users of NTPD

Dear members!

I've come across a bit of a puzzle.

We are moving from a old NTP server to a new one. I need to log which clients are using the existing NTP server, so I have a overview of them before we make the switch.

I've tried to set up logging in ntp.conf, but all that is logged is the external servers that are used to sync time.

It's a quite dated server with Ubuntu 8.04.1 and ntpd 4.2.4p4.

Any ideas?

Best regards,
Dagger907

Personally I'd just use iptables:

iptables -A INPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 123 -j LOG

then see what shows up from that.
