load average is very high on my system

Hello,

load average on my system is very high.
And everything looks fine. But don't know the reason behind high load average.

cat /etc/redhat-release

I'd say you load average is skewed due to the number of tasks:
Quote:
Tasks: 3331 total, 1 running, 3330 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
Most systems I see have <500 ... are all 3330 tasks actually required?

Hey thanks...!!!

But i found the problem..
It was due to a NFS Filesystem which was mounted on the system.
But nfs service was stopped on the source server.
