Is there a way to change multiple passwords in batch?

IE if i have a file in
username|password
username|password
username|password
username|password
format

Is it possible to use passwd in a shell script to set the passwords?

What would the command to do the password change be, so that it doesn't prompt me to put the password in twice?

if you just change the pipe to a colon then you can just squirt them straight into the chpasswd tool.
