After giving it some thought, I decided to bail on proftpd, which I've used for some time.

But when I search around with
locate proftpd, there seems to be a lot of "leftover" stuff. I'd like to remove all traces. Possible?
Now, I installed vsftpd:
But when I try to start it, I get:

I tried to locate its conf file, but I get this:

/var/log/vsftpd.log or anywhere else.
What am I doing wrong?
